African American Wigs The question which is frequently asked is "Is a synthetic or a human hair wig the best?" The answer to this question is that it depends on what your preferences are. A synthetic hair wig costs less than human hair. No doubt about that. Is it as good?  Well synthetic hair is probably easier to take care of than human hair. However it can,t be exposed to heat so you can,t curl it or blowdry it with a hot dryer. This limits the use you can make of the wig. Human hair can be treated exactly like your own hair. You can wash it, blowdry it and curl it with hot curlers with no ill effects. This makes the human hair wig much more adaptable. Human hair wigs are mostly made from Asian hair which is very suitable for African American wigs because it is thick black hair. This can be made into very real looking wigs which are hard to spot if they are fitted properly. Human hair lasts longer than synthetic wigs. The human hair is also soft and natural looking and it can be styled and dyed if desired.. A human hair wig breathes better than synthetic wigs so that your scalp does not perspire as much.  The disadvantages of human hair are that it is much more expensive and needs to be restyled every time it is washed. Synthetic hair wigs made from the best materials can look very realistic and cost less than human hair. Designer wigs made by good wig manufacturers are excellent quaity and look very reaslistic, when fitted properly to your head.  One big advantage is that the synthetic wig will keep its style after washing which saves much work. Disadvantages of syntheic wigs are that they wear out quickly and if in constant use will not last more than 3 months or so. If you only wear it occasionally of course it will last much longer. All in all the best choice if you can afford it is a good quality human hair wig. If you intend to wear it daily this is probably the only reasonable choice since it will far outlast a synthetic wig.
